Anne Pahigian

Our beloved Anne Pahigian, of Jupiter FL, passed away on July 19 from natural causes at the age of 101.  She went peacefully with her sons by her side.

 

 Anne was born in Hopedale, MA on February 15,1925 to Armenian immigrants, Manas and Agavni.  Anne’s father passed away in 1928 and Anne, her two sisters, Violet and Eleanor, and their mother moved to Pawtucket, RI.  Their mother died when Anne was 16, and the three sisters moved to Worcester, MA to live with relatives. 

 

Anne graduated from Commerce HS.  In Worcester she found love and in 1947 she married Girard Pahigian, a WW II veteran.  Anne and Girard had two boys, Philip and Ronald, and moved to Shrewsbury, MA in 1957.  They spent their summers at a home in East Dennis on Cape Cod.  In 1986 they purchased a condominium in Jupiter, FL  and in 2013 made it their year round home. Girard passed in 2015, just prior to their 68th wedding anniversary. 

 

Anne continued to live a fulfilling life in Jupiter with son Ronald until her passing.  She leaves her two boys, Philip and Ronald, her daughter in law Fernanda, her five grandchildren Tyler, Taryn, Trevor, Alan and John and her three great grandchildren,  Kai, Darryl and Jace. 

 

Anne was very intelligent and independent. She was a woman ahead of her time.  She worked as a secretary at Shrewsbury Bank and Trust while she raised her children.  She was a great homemaker, had outstanding sewing abilities, and an incredible sense of fashion.  

Anne’s picture was taken at her centennial birthday party, where she was celebrated by relatives, neighbors and friends.  As a daughter of immigrants, Anne truly materialized the American dream and within her community she helped shape the 20th century. 

The world has lost a wonderful person.
